  • Ensuring Your Well-being with Massage Therapy

    0

Massage Therapy has multiple benefits for your health and well-being such as influencing the activity of your musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems.  However, there are times when you should consult your doctor prior to having a massage, as a massage under certain conditions and situations can be contradictory to your well-being.

If you have one of the following conditions or ailments, be sure to get your doctor’s clearance prior to receiving a massage.

    • Pregnancy
    • Diabetes
    • Infection of superficial veins (Phlebitis) or soft tissue (cellulitis) in your legs or another part of your body
    • Blood Clots
    • Bleeding Disorders
    • Contagious skin conditions
    • Cancer
    • Rheumatoid Arthritis
    • Goiter
    • Eczema
    • Osteoporosis
    • Recovering from surgery

In addition, always inform your Massage Therapist about any medications you are taking.  Massage may influence absorption or activity of both oral and topical medications.

At Ethos, your health and well-being is our priority!
